But It’s Mine!

We’re all naturally selfish and we all know it—so that means we can just excuse it, right? Not if we want Jesus to use us to make an eternal difference in the lives of those around us. Think about it: where would you be today if Jesus was as selfish as you are? Listen as Joe Mueller looks at Philippians 2 and gives a progression of 3 reasons that your selfishness has eternal ramifications and the only hope for victory over an obsession with self.

Ever fought with a sibling over something dumb—like the last slice of pizza or who gets the front seat? That same selfish spirit shows up in way bigger areas of life, and it ruins relationships. In this session, Joe Mueller reveals how the grip of greed and entitlement blinds you to what really matters.

God calls you to flip the script: instead of clinging to “mine,” learn the joy of surrender and generosity. Real freedom comes when you let go—and you’ll discover that what God has for you is always better than what you’re trying to protect.

This workshop was one of 15 workshops presented at the 2018 Thee Generation Youth Summit in Menomonee Falls, WI.
