Faith Over FOMO
Do you ever feel like you’re missing out? In a world obsessed with experiences and comparison, it’s easy to let FOMO control our choices. In this episode, we’ll uncover how faith in God’s plan sets us free from the fear of missing out—because when you trust Him, you’re never truly missing a thing.
Janna and Anna Faith explore the fear of missing out and the comparisons that make people feel they must pursue every experience. They contrast FOMO with confidence that God’s plan is good and that obedience does not leave believers deprived of what matters most. The episode encourages fearless faith, contentment, and freedom from comparison.
Topics Discussed
- Fear of missing out and comparison
- Fear as an enemy of faithful living
- Trusting God’s plan and timing
- Fearless faith and contentment
Key Takeaways
- Comparison can make ordinary obedience feel like loss even when God is leading faithfully.
- Trusting God’s plan frees believers from chasing every experience or opportunity.
- Fearless faith rests in God’s wisdom rather than trying to control every possible outcome.
- Contentment grows when believers value God’s direction above the appearance of missing out.

Janna Faith: Hello, I’m Jana Faith.
And I’m Anna Faith, and welcome to episode 40 of Faith Talks.
This year we are very excited to start the new year off with a new focus and a new theme for this year of 2025.
We’re going to be branching out a little bit from our normal interview podcast style and focusing on some truth that the two of us, Jan and I, have been really encouraged by and are excited to share with you all.
And who knows, maybe we’ll scatter some interviews here and there throughout the year as well. but our theme for this new year is fearless faith, overcoming faith’s enemy as we attack lies and strongholds of fear that are holding us back in our walk of faith.
Anna Faith: So I don’t know about you, but when you hear the word fear, maybe something comes to your mind.
I was just curious.
So I was looking up what are the 10 most common fears that we as human beings have?
So we’re just going to give you a couple of those.
Maybe you can relate with them.
Maybe you don’t have any of those fears, which you’re blessed if you don’t.
So this first one is acrophobia, which is the fear of heights.
And they say it affects more than like 6% of people.
And I’ve had several friends that had the fear of heights.
You know, people don’t want to do roller coasters or climb towers or whatever.
My dad, he will tell you has the fear of heights.
He does not like going, you know, to the edge of anything.
Okay, let’s stay back.
So that’s one that’s really common.
Janna Faith: Maybe you have that one.
The second one is aerophobia or the fear of flying, which affects between 10% to 40% of U.S. adults, which I thought was really interesting.
I felt like that was more than I would have thought, which I don’t know if you have, you all have been paying attention to of the news recently but there’s been a couple accidents unusual ones recently so maybe that
Anna Faith: maybe that fear yeah percentage might go up the uh the next one is acro wait I’m gonna say this wrong arachnophobia the fear of spiders um that’s definitely legitimate I I would say I have a slight fear of that when we went to Africa I remember we had these like these huts but they were so dark you couldn’t really see what was on the wall.
And I remember me and Joanna once, we pulled out our flashlights and we were looking at the wall and the wall was like completely covered with spiders, just everywhere.
And it’s like, okay, this is where I’m sleeping.
Like how is, but you know, out of sight, out of mind, you couldn’t see them most of the time.
So just don’t pull out your flashlight and you’d be okay.
Janna Faith: I remember hearing that story.
And when our family was going to go to Papua New Guinea, I was thinking, oh, maybe it’ll be the same.
But thankfully, it wasn’t even, I mean, there were spiders there and they were pretty big, but not half as bad as that.
So that was encouraging.
Maybe the different climate or something.
The next one, I’m not even going to try to say like the technical scientific name because it just looks hard to say.
But that’s the fear of snakes.
And I don’t know, there’s a lot of people that are afraid of snakes.
I mean, I think I would have that fear for sure.
I don’t know if I would like I don’t know I think I would just run away from it but I had this friend and he was telling me that he like absolutely hates snakes like he is so afraid of them and when he was on I think it was like some some trip in high school maybe it was a senior trip there was a girl in the class that her fear is heights which Jan was talking about that earlier um but he decided that they would do like an exchange so she would go on this really really high zip line then he would hold a snake in class and so they I think they both did it but it was really hilarious like I don’t know the video of him holding the snake so hey way to conquer your
Anna Faith: fears um this next one is I think it’s synophobia it’s the fear of dogs and I feel like that would definitely come maybe from a bad experience with the dog.
I think Stephen Gilmore, he was bit by a dog once out soul winning or something.
So yeah, that would definitely bring a fear of dogs or
Janna Faith: something like that.
Yeah, especially too, like overseas dogs can be a little bit more ferocious.
I don’t think they’re trained as well.
So I’m sure that can be interesting with the dogs over there.
The next one is the fear of injections.
So it’s estimated that 20 to 30 percent of adults are affected by this type of phobia.
So anyways I thought that was interesting.
I didn’t realize that many people had that fear but I think it’s a valid one.
I mean who likes getting needles stuck
Anna Faith: into you?
Another one is astrophobia, the fear of thunder and lightning and there’s a boy I know who’s now a teenager who has an extreme fear of this and that’s a very real thing in his life so
Janna Faith: that’s definitely something that some people struggle with okay next one mysophobia which is the excessive fear of germs and dirt if you have this fear do not travel the world because there is a lot of dirt and germs everywhere but um yeah I think these types of people are like you know, your extreme cleaning, like have to be like perfectly clean, maybe wear a mask around and everything.
So yeah, people probably really like during COVID times.
Yeah, they probably did.
Anna Faith: There was one friend I had and he was like, like, you know, if something fell to the floor, he wouldn’t eat it.
He would never share, you know, if you’re passing around a water bottle, He would never share or just like anything like very extreme, wouldn’t do anything.
Well, then he got married and that’s really gotten better.
Now, like at first he wouldn’t even, you know, eat from the same plate as her and everything, but it’s really helped now that he’s married.
So he said that it’s a lot less of that phobia.
So that’s nice.
These next two are kind of the same agoraphobia and social phobia, but I think this is actually something I’ve encountered a lot.
And it’s like a fear of social situations.
For some people, it could even just be a fear of being in a crowd.
I know there was a boy who came to the war.
I guess it was just this August, so a couple months ago.
And he ended up leaving.
And I asked, you know, okay, why are you leaving?
And he said, there’s too many people here.
And his dad was explaining to me that he has that phobia.
So, you know, if there was 10 or 15, he’d be okay.
But since there was 40 to 50, whatever, that was too many people for him and he couldn’t handle it socially.
So that’s maybe more of a real one or even just the fear of, you know, maybe you had a bad experience in church.
So then you have a social anxiety and you feel like you can’t go to church anymore.
That’s also one that somebody told me they had last month.
So it’s just, that’s maybe more of a real one that people really face.
So, well, there are so many different fears you can have in life.
Of course, some of those were a little more on the light side.
But really, in our Christian lives, there are so many fears that can really completely paralyze us.
Janna Faith: So we’re going to, throughout this year, we’re going to focus on different fears that we all face in our Christian walk.
And we’ll give you a little sneak peek right now into some of the topics that we have.
So this will probably cover, honestly, in every podcast.
But we’re going to be focusing on one of them in the future, on the fear of man, or just looking horizontal.
So that will be a really helpful one.
But like I said, I’m sure we will be talking about the fear of man in probably all of these, because they probably have a lot to do with that in each of the topics.
Anna Faith: Completely, yeah.
And this next one, fear of past failure, is something I have talked to so many different girls about.
So often we make mistakes in our life and we do fail.
And sometimes those failures can haunt us.
We can think, you know, if I had done something different in this period of my life, would my life be different now?
And those past failures can almost define us instead of realizing, you know, I’m living my life right now.
I can change it.
I can do things about it.
So that’s another one we’ll be addressing in the future.
Janna Faith: Another one similar to that on the same lines would be the fear of rejection.
Maybe you have had somebody reject you in a really, really sensitive time or a really special relationship.
Maybe in your family relationships or somebody that was really, really close to you.
And that can be something that can paralyze you in your Christian life.
Anna Faith: Another one is the fear of missing out.
You might more commonly hear this as FOMO.
You know, you’re not involved in something and someone’s like, why are you all worked up about that?
Do you have FOMO?
So that’s definitely one that is legitimate.
And we’re going to talk about that a little bit at the end of our podcast.
So we’ll keep talking about fear.
I think this is really neat.
I heard a preacher say this once and I looked it up to make sure it’s true.
But God says in the Bible 365 times he tells us to fear not.
And you might hear that.
Oh, 365.
That’s how many days are in the year.
Exactly.
And I think that’s kind of neat that for every day of the year, God gives us a fear not.
Because we are fearful people.
And that’s definitely something we tend towards.
Janna Faith: Yeah, I really like that.
That’s very comforting to know that the Lord doesn’t want us to fear. and that he just constantly is gently helping us to not focus on that and to just trust him.
So now we’ll just transition a little bit to some of the verses that has been encouraging to us, even in looking at this new year and the theme for this year.
And one of the ones that I will always share a couple and then GM will share a couple.
First John 5, 4 has been a huge encouragement and honestly a theme verse for me in my life.
I’ll read it here.
For whatsoever is born of God, overcome with the world.
And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
And I just love this verse because it’s talking about overcoming the whole world.
And I think like even just thinking in our lives, it’s so easy to let fear take over and hold us back from experiencing a life that overcomes every obstacle in this world.
So our response of faith and obedience to the truth in God’s word is truly the only way that we can live a victorious life and overcome in this world.
And I don’t know, just think about that.
We are truly overcomers of anything that we experience in this world when we live a life of faith.
And I think obviously there’s different things that you could look at when you’re looking at the opposite of faith, maybe unbelief or fear.
And so we’re really focused on that fear in this specific, just looking at the different fears and how we can overcome that with the truth in God’s word and choose to respond in faith to that.
And another verse that is really huge is Romans 14, 23, the end of it says, for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
And this verse has been really interesting to me in just thinking about these last couple months and just realizing how extreme the Lord takes when we don’t live by faith, we’re living a sinful life.
And that kind of seems very abrasive, honestly.
Anything that’s not of faith is sin.
And I think so many times we can live based on people around us or based on our own perspective of the world and not seeing God’s perspective.
And that means we’re not living a life of faith.
And we’re probably imbibing a lot of the world’s practices and a lot of sin in our lives and just how extreme the Lord takes that.
I love 1 Corinthians 10, 13.
There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man.
But God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you’re able, but will with the temptation also make a way of escape that you may be able to bear it.
So just realizing that whatever fear or temptation that comes into our life, we can actually have the victory.
And going back to 1 John 5, 4, that we are overcomers.
Anna Faith: I also love Romans 12, 2.
And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
And really, if we think like the world around us and, you know, live our lives governed by whatever fears we may have, like this verse says, we’re not going to be able to accomplish or be in God’s will.
But if we renew our minds, we will.
And you might say, well, what does it mean to renew your minds?
One definition I’ve heard of is to align your mind with the mind of Jesus.
When you have fears, you tend to align your mind with how the world thinks or how really the devil thinks.
And he’s often tempting you to think that way.
But if you align your mind with how Jesus thinks, it makes all the difference.
If you’re thinking how he thinks, you’re going to discern how he discerns.
You’re going to see life how he sees it.
You’re going to think, oh, this is important because Jesus says it’s important. and you’ll speak like he speaks and just everything changes as you renew your mind in who Jesus is.
And as we look at fears this year, it’s important to recognize that not all fear is bad.
I mean, obviously the fear of getting in a car wreck, like that’s something you want to keep as you’re driving or the fear of burning yourself.
You know, there are such things as healthy fears.
And also God talks about in his word how we should fear him.
And there’s like 144 references in the Bible just about fearing God.
Here’s one of them, Psalm 111, 10.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
A good understanding have all they that do his commandments.
His praise endureth forever.
So why is fearing the Lord so important?
And I think it comes down to when we fear the Lord, that means we truly know who our God is.
When we understand how powerful he is, our creator, and how weak we are, okay, like there’s no reason for me to be fearing all these weak humans around me or worldly events or, no, I serve a God far greater than that.
And we instead of looking at, like Anna Faith was saying, the horizontal, looking at everybody around us, turn our eyes to the omnipotent one.
It’s such a comfort.
And I also love Psalm 112 that talks about those who fear the Lord.
It brings great blessing.
And let me just flip to that here.
There was a couple things I saw in the verses that were a real blessing.
Psalm 112 here, it says, Praise ye the Lord.
Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord.
And it just goes through the blessings.
It says, if you fear the Lord, your seed is going to be mighty upon the earth.
Your generation is going to be blessed.
You’re going to have wealth, riches to your house. you’re going to have light and darkness that Jesus will have compassion on you.
It keeps going.
You’re not going to be moved forever.
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings.
His heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
So if your heart is fixed on the Lord, that’s going to remove the other fears in your life.
And that’s not a one-time decision, but that might be a daily decision as whatever fear that is you’re dealing with comes up saying, okay, I’m not going to focus on that, but I’m going to turn my focus to the Lord.
All right.
Well,
Janna Faith: now we’re going to transition to focusing on the specific fear for this episode.
Have you ever heard someone say that they had FOMO or fear of missing out?
Well, while only a few admit to it, most of us live with this on a daily basis.
And we’re going to talk about some different ways that we live this fear out.
I have a question for you.
And this is a good question for me too.
What do you do first thing in the morning?
Do you lay there, think of your day, or maybe reach for your Bible and start praying?
Probably not.
Most of you probably reach for your phone.
And to be honest, I would have to admit that I do that a lot myself.
Well, why is that?
Well, we want to, a lot of times, I mean, there’s different reasons, I’m sure, but we want to see what’s going on in everyone else’s world.
And being so connected with our phones, it’s so easy to just think of like, oh, I need to see what everyone else is doing today and what I missed already.
And one of the big topics we’ll talk about first here is the big social media, which I know is a big thing for a lot of people.
But fear of missing out is really, really being fueled by social media.
In fact, women, there’s a statistic here, women age 16 to 24 have the biggest social media usage, spending about two hours and 59 minutes a day on it.
So three hours a day, which is crazy.
But this is a huge, huge thing.
And I know like it’s so easy to get lost on your phone and looking at all the statuses and the updates that people posted from their perfect lives.
And so Jan’s going to talk a little bit about the day-to-day life of another FOMO that we can have.
Anna Faith: Yeah, so just going back to what you’re saying about social media, I think it’s so interesting to, I remember somebody told me this, like, what do people put on social media?
Like, nobody puts, like, their dirty house, or nobody puts, like, the stack of diapers they just threw in the trash.
Like everyone tries to portray life really unrealistically.
And then it can, you know, you now jealous because of this person has this perfect life and you don’t.
When in all reality, their life probably looks a little bit like yours.
So, but it’s so different.
Like, you know, teens could have more of, okay, I don’t know how many things when I was getting ready to be married and I had like a Pinterest account and different things to get ideas for wedding.
I don’t know how many like makeup tutorials came up or these like body things you wear so you have a better shape.
And they just, it bombards you for a long time.
Now it’s all changed to baby.
So it’s like, get this for your baby and this and that.
And oh my word. there was something that popped up the other day this is a little off topic but it was like a head it almost looked like a headband but then like the dad can wear it and it’s like a headband and then coming out from the head is this long pole with these little creatures hanging around it so the idea is when you change your kid’s diaper then the kid can play with the toys that are like hanging above him because it’s coming off the dad’s head but it’s like a hat you have to put on Anyway, it made me laugh so hard because, like, it’s like people are coming up with every single thing they can to try to sell it to you.
That is really hilarious, honestly.
And I’m like, what dad gets up in the middle of the night to change a diaper and puts on this hat to entertain his kid?
Like, I don’t know.
Whatever.
But there is a lot, like whatever phase of life you’re in, there’s a lot being pushed at you to, you know, do more with this or be better in this area.
And it’s not all bad, but it’s really something that can cause your focus to be off.
The second thing we’re talking about is your, just your physical social life.
So maybe some of you girls go to school and it’s really easy.
I know I see it a lot at our Christian school here.
It’s really easy to be consumed with not being left out.
Maybe your friends are having a cool conversation and you want to go join them because you don’t want to miss out on anything.
Maybe there’s a new club starting and you’re not even really interested in what the topic is, but some of your friends are going and you feel like you need to do it too.
Or maybe it’s a competition that your teacher is suggesting you compete in.
And so often our lives are crowded with all these things that they came simply because we didn’t know how to say no because we didn’t want to miss anything.
And instead we just say yes to everything and everyone.
And really you can find yourself empty and not really accomplishing the goals you care about.
I don’t know how many times I’ve heard people say, oh, I don’t have time to read my Bible in the day.
Okay, well we all know that’s not true.
You do have time, but maybe you’re crowding it out with things that, are they really necessary?
I think something that’s good to think about is every time you say yes to something, it’s also forcing you to say no to something else.
Every yes you say to sports or every yes you say to music practice.
These aren’t bad things, but every yes you say, it’s taken up part of your day, so it’s going to have you say no to something else.
I really would challenge you examine especially as we come on this new year examine what’s filling up your day and ask yourself okay am I doing this because I feel pressured from another person or maybe I even just myself I have okay I gotta be good at this I gotta be good at this I gotta be this or am I doing this thing because I know it’s what God’s called me to do?
And that’s a really great question to ask yourself because you might have really great goals of Bible memory and reading and different stuff, but examine what other things are filling up your day to see what you could cut out so you really have time for the things that God wants you
Janna Faith: to do.
That’s really good.
Another angle to FOMO that we really all can get stuck in would be just worldly living which we talked about a little bit with social media but even just like Jana was talking about in just your friend group and not wanting to miss out what your friends are doing another thing we can do is just want to do what everyone around us is doing you know you feel like oh if I don’t have that experience then I’m not going to be able to relate to everyone I’m not going to have the same understanding of this other person’s life and that can be very very especially when there’s so many worldly things out there and a couple things that that can so easily we can get stuck in would be just wanting to um not miss out on the different movies that your friends are talking about at school or maybe some of the music that your friends are that all the cool friends and the people the cool people at school are talking about um or just even any people around you, even family.
Or it could be maybe a relationship.
Maybe you think, well, this other person has a boyfriend and they look like they’re having a great time and I don’t want to miss out, so I need a boyfriend too.
And you can end up doing it the wrong way and get really, really hurt because you were just trying to not miss out on something.
Maybe, yeah, it doesn’t even seem like that big of a deal, but you just didn’t want to miss out on this thing.
And you end up really, really hurting yourself because you’re so focused on, on yourself and horizontal.
And, um, we were talking about this before, but a lot of this comes down to focusing on my, what the fear of man, the people around me, what they’re going to think of me and not focusing on what God has said in his word and kind of that vertical look.
But these are very, very really, really big topics because they can really, really damage your life and hurt you and cause you to have so much pain that would not have been there.
And obviously there’s so many different reasons for indulging in some of these things but um it could be as simple as oh I just don’t want to miss out and it seems so you know very um innocent and very naive and in the end it can end really really so painful and hurt you so much and just be so sinful and worldly and really cause you to stumble
Anna Faith: and hurt other people as well.
And as we conclude here, I’m just going to give a little example from my own life of just something I wrestled through.
I think it’s easy as a lady to just wonder if you should be doing something more with your life.
You know, you’re not always having a specific calling you feel like God’s called you to, like, okay, I’m going to be a preacher.
Sometimes it’s a little more vague as a lady.
And it’s easy to wonder, I know, especially after college, this hit me, if you should, if you should be doing something more with your life.
And there’s times where I thought, oh, my life’s boring.
It’s ordinary.
Maybe I’m not in the right spot right now, or maybe I’m not, maybe I’m missing God’s will.
And the thing is though, I was, I was seeking God about it and I was doing what he felt like, what I felt like he was leading me to.
But sometimes I just felt like waiting on him was taking too long.
And one passage that God really led me to was Psalm 25.
And it talks about that those who wait upon the Lord will not be ashamed.
And really, especially in the arid area of marriage and waiting on the Lord to send you the right one, as it were, I would, I would just wrestle through it and say, you know, I wonder if someday people are going to point to me, I’m going to be, you know, 50 and I’m still going to be a single Pringle.
And they’re going to point at me and laugh and say like, oh, look, there’s her over there waiting on God and his will.
And like, I would be ashamed for it.
And, um, and some of you might have thought the exact same thing.
I think it’s a common thought, um, among young ladies, but I just love how Psalm 25 talks about it here.
I’m just going to read verses, a couple of verses, two, three, four.
O my God, I trust in thee.
Let me not be ashamed.
Let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Yea, let none that wait upon thee be ashamed.
Let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
Show me thy ways, O Lord.
Teach me thy paths.
And it keeps going, and I love so much of what it has after that.
But just that phrase in verse 3, that none of those that wait on thee shall be ashamed.
And that’s really something you can cling to, just even thinking about the FOMO we talked about today.
If you’re following the Lord and you are keeping your focus on Him, you’re not going to miss out on anything that isn’t best for your life and that God wants in your life.
And really that fear of missing out is you trying to control your life.
If you give that to the Lord, you’re not going to have that fear.
And someday you’re going to be able to look back and say, Oh, I don’t have to be ashamed.
God did everything for me.
And I know that’s definitely even just with the story of God bringing Judson into my life that I can now look at it and say, Okay, I’m not ashamed for waiting on God and His will because He had it exactly figured out.
And he was doing it in his timing, not mine.
And so just whatever that applies, maybe you are praying about somebody or maybe you’re younger and it’s something else that is in your life that you’re having FOMO over.
But just trust on the Lord and really you aren’t going to be ashamed for it.
Janna Faith: I really agree with that.
And it ties right into the passage that I was going to talk about, Matthew 6, 33.
And just all of that passage right before those verses are talking about not taking any thought for what you’re going to eat, what you’re going to drink, how you’re going to be dressed.
And it talks about that that’s what the Gentiles seek after, but that our Heavenly Father knows that we have need of these things.
And if you’re walking with the Lord, you’re not going to miss out on any good thing.
And it says, seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.
Don’t you believe that God means all when he says all?
And thinking of all these things in our lives, even going back to the whole social media thing and looking at other people’s lives and how they’re doing, how they’re living their life so much better than I am living my life, it can seem.
And realizing that, you know, if I focus on my God and what he has given to me in his word and just living that out in my life, I’m going to have such a healthier and richer life than all these people that maybe are looking like their life is perfect.
When they’re missing the most important thing that they could ever need, that they need or they could ever want.
And realizing, you know what, they actually are the ones that are missing out big time.
Like, we’re not missing out as Christians trusting in God.
But those people that don’t know him, they’re the ones that are missing out.
And we need to be getting to them and helping them realize that.
Also thinking of the verse, 1 Corinthians 2, 9.
I hath not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
And realizing that way beyond what we can ever even think up as humans is what God has prepared for us.
And that’s such a comfort to us.
And it’s just so amazing to realize, you know what?
If I know my God and if I’m living for the fear of God and not the fear of man, I am not missing out on any good thing.
In fact, I don’t even, I have literally not, I don’t even have the brain capacity to understand the amazing things that God has prepared for me.
And I was thinking about even just hearing about the fires in California in the last couple weeks.
And some of these people’s lives just completely devastated, losing absolutely everything.
And I was thinking about that.
You know, am I, am I missing out sometimes?
It’s so easy to get lost in my life.
And honestly, like sometimes I, Oh, even just thinking the fires, like if my house had burned down and I had lost everything, like where would I, what would I be, you know, thinking right now?
And if I was completely honest with myself, I think I would be a bit devastated.
And I, I really, it was just a good, um, just thought for me to realize, you know what?
A lot of times I think that I’m more living for the Lord and just that I really am in my day-to-day life and um so that was a good just um reminder to me just to really truly put God first and all of the things that he has given to me and realizing that you know if I lose everything if I lose all the closest people to me I have God and that’s all that I need I have him I have his word and I have all of his promises to me and um that’s that’s what I that’s all that I need and if if we have God we’re not missing out on anything and so even just thinking an application here today we talked about a lot of things we talked about some some FOMOs that we might have whether it’s with social media whether it’s with your friend group or just being with having a social life whether it’s some lifestyle choices and wanting to experience the things that the people around us are experiencing.
So we don’t want to miss out on that.
Or maybe it’s a relationship and not wanting to miss out on that.
So maybe we try to do something about it.
But just realize that if you seek God first, you will not miss out on any good thing.
In fact, you’re going to be missing out on the stuff that would be painful for you, but you’re not going to be missing out on the stuff that’s going to be good for you.
And that’s such a comfort to us.
So I just encourage you with any of these things that we talked about to ask God what you need to take out of your life because you’re doing it, because you’re living for not missing out or just wanting to experience things that the people around you are experiencing.
And you’re not really living for the Lord and fearing him in that specific area. so just take some time and ask the Lord to change you to give you the fear of God that you need in your day-to-day life and to ask him to help you to seek him first and maybe that’s gonna mean okay I’m not gonna have my phone next to my head next to my pillow I’m gonna put it somewhere else in my room so when I get up and maybe put your bible where your phone used to be I don’t know maybe something as specific as that sometimes it’s easy to listen to these podcasts and say you know those that’s some really really good truth but if you’re not taking action you’re not truly living by faith and we always talk about it’s not just faith talks but faith walks so what is God telling you to do from this specific podcast that you need to take action and see and take that step of faith and see God change you in that area I’d encourage you in whatever way it is in as the Lord challenges you and grows you and helps us to not just live for fear of what people might think around us, but truly fear God, not fear man at all.
And I just encourage you, as you grow in your walk of faith and not living by fear, remember that faith doesn’t just talk.
Faith walks.
