Bobby Bosler: I’m Bobby Bosler, and I’m speaking to you today from Landis, North Carolina, where I and Kenan Davidson and Colin Yoder are on the trail with the war. Excited about getting back to things here.

Um, we’re very excited about being able to bring in young people to Chapel Street Baptist Church and to have another war and to see God work in hearts. And, you know, as, um, as I’m recording here, and as I’ve been dwelling and thinking about what to talk to you about here, first, I want to say this young people, some of you are supposed to travel with me.

Some of you young people are supposed to travel with Doctor Jim Van Gelderen. And so let me just say this.

When you all end up in Bible college or when you end up after high school, if you’ve got a heart for God, and if you have a desire to see God use you, I really do want to encourage you communicate with us. Um, Doctor Jim, he takes out a team every fall and every other spring semester.

I take out a team every spring semester and every summer. Now, unfortunately, I can’t take students from other colleges during the summer, but I can take students, uh, that do not go to Baptist College of Ministry during the spring semesters.

Um, in fact, Colin is someone who we’ve ministered to along the trail and he’s joined us here for this tour as well. So just keep that in the back of your mind a young men, uh, if you feel like God would like to use you, even if you’re not necessarily called to full time ministry, you just want to see God use you.

Um, maybe, uh, think about reaching out to me at some point along the way, and perhaps you could end up on one of our evangelistic teams as a team captain.

Uh, now, that being said here this week, uh, we are, uh, we’ve been recruiting. And to be totally honest with you, Covid has taken a toll a little bit on our recruiting with the way the schools are still limited in their in-person instruction. But, uh, we’re grateful to God for how he allowed us to get recruits in spite of all of that and how God is working.

And we’re thrilled with what’s going to happen here this weekend. If you think of it, pray for us here tonight.

Uh, probably as the time of you listening to this Saturday night will be our first rally of the weekend. And I pray that many young people will come and that many young people will get saved.

Now, that being said, I have a short challenge that I want to present to you here today. I’ve been thinking about this here lately, uh, in the book of Colossians, in chapter one, near the end of the chapter, Paul talks about the purpose for God, calling him to the ministry, and he says in verse twenty five, whereof I am made a minister.

And now he’s talking about when it comes to the whereof, he’s talking about presenting people wholly unblamable, unprovable in God’s sight. And he says, whereof I made a minister, uh, according to the dispensation or the dispensing or the, uh, entrustment, uh, of God, which is given to me for you to fulfill the word of God.

And here he’s saying, God entrusted me with a mission, uh, a dispensation God dispensed to me a mission to accomplish. And the mission is given to me for you.

He says to fulfill the Word of God. We’re going to come back to that here in just a minute.

He says, okay, what is, uh, what is this thing? It says, even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints, to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of the mystery?

This mystery among the Gentiles. Okay, so he’s saying, listen, there’s a mystery that God has entrusted to me to share with you for your good.

This mystery. It’s been around for a long time.

It involves God’s rich inheritance that he wants to give to his saints. And what’s the mystery?

The end of verse twenty seven, which is Christ in you, the hope or confident expectation of glory? And if you’ve listened to this podcast for any length of time, you know that the greatest thing that you ever got is Jesus.

I don’t just mean Jesus for eternal life, but Jesus for your sanctification, Jesus for your enablement, Jesus for your friend Jesus as your hope and your joy, Jesus is the key to the Christian life. In fact, he’s not just the key to the Christian life.

He is the Christian life. And we can access all that we have in Jesus by faith, by depending upon him who lives inside of us.

So there’s a mystery that Paul says, God entrusted to me. He dispensed to me to share with others.

Specifically, he dispensed it to me to share it with you. And this is your hope, your expectation of glory.

Now I’m going somewhere with this verse twenty eight, whom we preach. We preach Jesus warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Now get this Paul saying, God has entrusted me with a mission. The mission is for your good. The message that I’m to present for your good is Jesus in you.

Okay? and the end of the road.

The ultimate end goal is to be able to present every man, every one of you, perfect in Christ Jesus.

Okay, young people, I want you to know my mission is to present you perfect in Christ Jesus. When you stand before God, that you will be complete, that you will have accomplished everything that God has for you. Now again, I’m going somewhere with this.

Verse twenty nine whereunto I also labour. Now that first word whereunto he’s essentially saying, I’m laboring towards something, I’m laboring for something, I’m fighting for something, working for something.

Okay. And the thing that he’s working for and towards is the ultimate good of those that he’s ministering to.

And he says in verse twenty nine, wherefore I also labor. There’s work involved, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Now here, here’s the main point. Here’s what I’m burdened about here today.

Laboring requires sacrifice. It requires giving up something that you could have hung on to for yourself. It requires the sacrifice of time.

Young people, I want you to know that God has a mission for you.

And that mission is going to require time, not only time during your day, but time of your life.

I’m thirty five years old right now, and I have given the last ten years of my life for the mission that God has entrusted me to. Frankly, it’s probably a lot more than that when you consider the training that I went through to equip me to do this mission. And, you know, there are you may have some plans for your life.

You may have some things that you envision that you’d like to do, but sometimes it requires sacrificing time that could have been spent on other things, spending that time for the good of others.

It’s going to require the sacrifice of energy, he says. Striving, laboring. Okay.

When you work a long day’s work at the end of the day, many times we say that we are spent right and that require. And what I’m saying by this is I’m saying that you are going to need to spend some energy.

Some folks, I’m really convinced, are looking forward to one day being a pastor and making everyone else do all the work. They’re looking forward to being some kind of person with a title and a little bit of authority who gets to make other people do all of the hard work.

And can I tell you this, young people, while yes, you may, you will probably delegate things to other people, if that’s what you’re looking forward to. You’re not striving and you’re not you’re lazy.

You got to be willing to work. Paul was a man who wasn’t afraid of hard work in Thessalonica.

He worked day and night in order to, uh, to be able to provide for himself for the sake of the Thessalonians. And there’s a ton that I could say about that, but I don’t have time.

But listen, you’re going to have to sacrifice some time for the good of others. You’re going to have to sacrifice some energy for the good of others, and you’re going to have to sacrifice some privileges for the good of others.

You know, you may not have thought about this, but when if you surrender to God’s call, you’re also surrendering your right, uh, to your own comfort and enjoyment and privileges. Now, granted, there are privileges and ways that God blesses us in our lives, but sometimes in the pursuit of the good of others, you give up things that you could have insisted on for yourself.

Um, and young people, I’m not even going to go into specifics and necessarily apply this except to say laboring for the good of others isn’t always comfortable. Laboring for the good of others doesn’t always get you the nicest things.

Laboring for the good of others requires you letting go of your dreams and your visions and your plans.

You see, Paul’s mission was not about making a name for himself. It was about lifting up Jesus. It wasn’t about accomplishing his end goals.

It was about accomplishing God’s and goals that he had dispensed to him. His goal was not to present himself perfect. Though he wanted to do everything God wanted him to do.

His goal was not to merely enjoy the benefits of salvation.

It was not merely to be clean in his heart and to enjoy a relationship with God. Though all those things are absolutely important.

His mission was to bring others to where God wanted them to be. I’ve said this many times before in this podcast, young people, but this podcast isn’t for you.

The truth that we share here isn’t so you can feel good about yourself, or so that you can have a walk with God yourself. Though we want you to have a walk with God yourself.

This podcast is something that needs to be spread. The truth contained in these short challenges are things that we’re giving to you so you can give them to others.

In fact, that being said, I’ve got a challenge for you. Okay. I’ve got a challenge for you.

Um, last night I was at a very cold.

I had a cultural experience. I’ve had many of these before.

All right. But it was really for one of my guys.

I’ve been to one of these places before. We were at a waffle House for dinner at ten o’clock last night.

And, um, while we were there again, I personally, I love waffle House. I love the food, but there’s anyway different people have different opinions about it.

And while we were there, there was a young man that Colin went and talked to and invited to come to the war. And the young man came over to our table.

Actually, he began to talk to us, and he began to share, uh, that he wanted to be a preacher and that he was preparing sermons and, uh, and so on and so forth. And as we were talking, um, I began to just think, you know what this young man needs.

Thee Generation, I mean, the church he went to is probably not the kind of church that I necessarily go to. It might be. But again, it was hard to tell.

But I thought, you know what?

This young man needs the truth. He’s got a heart for God, this young man, he needs Thee Generation.

And so I told him, I said, hey, we’ve got a podcast you have got to listen to. This podcast will encourage you.

I think it’s right down your alley. And I gave him a brief little overview of total surrender and total dependence.

AM I challenge to you here? This week is between now and next Saturday.

Share the podcast with somebody that hasn’t heard about it. Maybe that’s somebody in your youth group. Maybe that’s your youth pastor.

Maybe this is somebody you’re friends with online.

Maybe this is a cousin, a relative and say, hey, listen, I’ve been listening to this podcast and to be honest with you, you need to hear this. This has been so helpful to me and so encouraging to me.

And, uh, do you think you can do that? Because here’s the thing.

This podcast isn’t for you. And it may mean your friend or your cousin or whoever it is you share it with.

They might roll their eyes, they might say, oh, you’re a holy roller or something like that. But you know what?

That’s okay. Paul didn’t care when he presented Jesus to people, how they responded.

He wanted he needed to do what God had called him and trusted him to do. And that is to share the good news about Jesus.

So here, this is my assignment for you young people between now and next Saturday. Think of one or two people who have not heard about the podcast and share it with them.

Share Thee Generation with them. Tell them about.

Maybe send them a link to the podcast on your podcast platform of choice, or send them a link to the website and say, hey, I’ve been listening to this. This has been so helpful to me. You’ve got to listen to this.

And that is just a very small way where you can labor to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

So hey, if you all would pray for us, remember, don’t insist on your own rights. Don’t insist on your own thing.

You surrender to Jesus’s mission for you. Sacrifice your time for the good of others, your energy for the good of others, and your privileges for the good of others.

Young people, as we surrender to Jesus and depend on his power, you know what’s going to happen. You know this.

We’re going to turn the world upside down for Jesus Christ. Hey, thanks so much for listening.
