Bobby Bosler: Welcome to the Thee Generation Podcast. I’m Bobby Bosler, and I’m privileged to be here today with John Pound. John traveled with my team in 2014, and he traveled with Jim Van Gelderen two times, in 2014 and 2015.

We are delighted not only to have him on the podcast this week, but also that he and his fiancée will be joining the Minutemen family in the coming years and taking an evangelistic team on the road. John, I wanted you to share something from your heart. Why don’t you share what’s on your heart?

John Pound: Really, our burden in coming along with Minutemen is the burden of the Thee Generation, which is to help teenagers understand a life of total surrender and total dependence on God. Our desire is to share the gospel with teenagers who have never heard it before, and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ’s power over sin with those who are saved. I was reached as a teenager.

I was an atheist, and at fifteen years old I came to an evangelistic service. During that evangelistic service, I heard a preacher preach the gospel several nights in a row. Finally, I was confronted with the truth that hell is a real place, that it is the consequence of our sin, and that it is what we deserve because of our sin.

We have been separated from God. Understanding that consequence, I began to wrestle with whether the Bible was true and whether this thing about hell was real. During that time, God began to convict my heart.

I made a decision to believe the Bible and the gospel, and to turn from my sin to Jesus Christ. Because of that, God has done a major transformation in my life, sending me to Bible college and now graduating and joining Minutemen.

I’m looking to go out with a team and help lost teenagers who may be struggling with some of the same questions come to the same conclusion: the Bible is a book that can be trusted, the gospel is true, there is a real heaven, there is a real hell, and there is a real God who loves us. Another side of our burden is going to be to preach the truth that Jesus Christ has power over sin.

So many teenagers struggle with questions like, “Can I ever have real victory?” “What can I do to be an effective witness?” “How can I overcome peer pressure?” and addictions that they are struggling with.

In a society that hates God, has nothing to do with the Bible, and has everything to do with current cultures and modern thinking, we want to bring the truth of Jesus Christ, the light that He offers, and the salvation that He gives into every heart that we possibly can.

We want to teach teenagers who are saved how to live a victorious life, how to really live Christ’s life in them, and then take the message of salvation that they have received into their communities, friends, families, and neighborhoods. It is not just a burden but a passion. We understand that without God we can do nothing, and if it were not for God, we would be nobody, on our way to eternity without Him.

Because of Him, because of His death and saving life, we can live a victorious life in Christ. Our desire is simply to share that with people. I’ll never forget traveling with Brother Bosler and with Dr. Jim for those two tours.

So many times, teenagers would come up to me after a message or at the end of a testimony service and talk about what God had done in their hearts that week and how God had transformed their lives. For the past couple of years, since I finished school and have been out of Minutemen, that has really impacted me.

I have looked back to it and thought about it many times, and I have not been able to get away from it.

As we enter ministry and evangelism, and as we look to join the Minutemen family and launch with our own team, our desire is to see those same testimonies through our ministry: teenagers with the same burden finding that they can leave those burdens at the cross; teenagers who are lost and in need of hope finding that hope in Jesus; and then being able to give testimonies of salvation.

Our desire is to go into all the world, as Jesus said, to preach the gospel to every creature and see folks come to Christ. That’s our heart and what we hope to do. Thanks for having me on the podcast.

Bobby Bosler: Praise the Lord, John. We are absolutely thrilled to have you and Danielle on board. Young people, I hope that you take instruction from his testimony.

As you hear of someone who was saved out of atheism and how God has taken him from there to the point where he is launching into full-time ministry, that can be you. God wants to take every one of you who is listening, not only to find hope in Jesus, but to make your life effective for Him. He wants your life to make a difference in the kingdom of God and impact the souls of men and women.

He wants you to turn your generation upside down for Jesus Christ. That’s exactly what John and Danielle are going to be doing as they launch, surrender to the Lord, and depend on His power to turn the world upside down for Jesus Christ. It is always encouraging to hear other people express their surrender and vision.

Every time I hear somebody else share it, it encourages me in my own personal journey, and I trust it is an encouragement in your journey as well.
