A journey in Romans chapter six. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these podcasts. In other words, I’ve enjoyed giving you the truth.

I hope it’s been a help to you. It certainly has been a help to me and continues to be. Now remember, Romans six is dealing with the problem.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin? The answer is a resounding, God forbid!

How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein? In other words, when you got saved, you were put into Jesus, who died to sin and is alive unto God. And the wonderful truth there you got to know the right facts.

Go back and listen to the early two podcasts. We deal with knowing the right facts. Then our third podcast, we dealt with thinking the right facts, very key to reject the illusion of the enemy and to accept the reality of who you are in Jesus Christ.

And then last week we dealt with, um, acting on those and acting on the right facts. In fact, I put it this way. You got to know, right?

You got to think, right? You got to do right. I know that no rights, not great English, but you get the point.

Uh, now remember this. Maybe this will be a help. I know as I was growing up, I probably had the idea of the Christian life.

do, and you’ll be. In other words, do. All these things shall be a good Christian.

Now there may be some truth in that, but I believe the greater truth of the Word of God is not due, and you’ll be. It’s because you are due. Galatians chapter five deals with that you were formerly or you were sometimes darkness.

But now are you light in the Lord? Walk as children of light. And that verse of Scripture is saying, hey, you used to be darkness, but now you’re light.

Hey, live like it. So the Word of God deals with that. Often it says here, because you are, this is what you need to do.

Well, we’ve been talking about the fact that the Bible here tells us to yield our members servants to righteousness and no longer servants to unrighteousness. Now the word yield is an interesting word because it’s not just passive. We think of yield like surrender, like going surrendering to the enemy.

Okay, so here you are fighting for the devil and you surrender to God, but you don’t go to God’s P.O.W. camp. No, you put on his uniform and you go to you go, you go to battle for him.

That’s the idea of yield. It’s translated in Romans twelve one I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present. Okay, so it’s yielding and presenting.

And so what God is simply saying, what you need to do is stop yielding and presenting your body parts to sinful activity and start yielding them to God for righteous activity. I gave an illustration about checking out groceries last week and, and being distracted by something impure on a magazine cover. Let me give a different one here, because God says the same way he says, I speak after the manner of men.

In other words, I’m going to be human about this because of the infirmity of your flesh. Because you don’t get it. Your flesh blinds you on this thing.

So I’m going to use an illustration just like you yielded to unrighteousness or uncleanness, you yield to righteousness is basically what he’s saying there in verse number nineteen. And so, friends, uh, let me give you another illustration. I don’t know if you have a younger brother or sister.

Maybe they hit your buttons every once in a while, pull your lever and imagine you’re in a situation And, um, your younger brother or sister, I mean, hits your buttons, pull your lever, and, uh, normally you would explode and normally you’d yield your tongue, your mouth, your lips to say some pretty choice, grievous words. And boy, you’d have, uh, you’d stir up anger and you’d have it going, uh, so imagine that happens.

You have the buttons pulled, pushed, the lever pulled, and all of a sudden you realize, wait a second, I’m dead to grievous words.
