The Hour with God
Spending time with God isn’t just a nice idea; it’s essential to being totally surrendered and totally dependent on God. In this session, Pastor Van Gelderen takes the time to walk us through how to use the Christ Walk Journal and how to actually spend an hour of meaningful, heart-warming fellowship with God!
You can purchase a Christ Walk Journal from Thee Generation Publications.
This is the ninth of twelve in a special series that will contain all of the sermons and workshops delivered at the 2021 Thee Generation Youth Summit at Falls Baptist Church in Menomonee Falls, WI this October 13-15, 2021.

Wayne Van Gelderen: When I was a teenager, as I mentioned last night, God got a hold of my heart and I began to learn step by step the matter of having a relationship with the Lord. But it wouldn’t have happened had it not been for some good guidance on the part of my parents. I’m thankful that they made me have devotions from a little kid on up.
I can’t say they were very exciting devotions, but at least it became a habit. in my life. And if you have been led by your parents to have that habit, that’s great.
But that turned into a genuine lengthy time with God in my middle high school years when I finally determined I needed the Lord and I needed to talk to Him. And I needed to hear from Him. And I remember getting up very early on those mornings.
I had to walk a couple of miles to high school and other things. And so I had to get up pretty early. But that was where my life changed.
Yes, it changed when I came forward to get my life really surrendered. It changed when a few other decisions were made. But where I genuinely began to understand the reality of Christianity is when I started meeting with Jesus.
And I think of my little room downstairs, 5.30 in the morning. Sometimes it was before that. And I’d start my devotions, and then all of a sudden my heart would be warmed.
I had a lot more growth than I needed to have, but those were very important times. And so young people, let’s go to the Lord in prayer right now and let’s ask Him to stir in your heart a genuine desire to have a genuine love relationship with your Savior. Let’s bow for prayer.
Heavenly Father, I do ask that the Spirit of God will illumine each one here. Would they not look at this this morning as a methodology but as simply a biblical pattern of how they can come into your presence? Lord, we are in your presence all the time.
You’re omniscient, omnipresent. You also are in us if we’re saved. But there’s something about that manifest presence through the word of God and through the time of prayer that makes all the difference.
And so, Lord, I do pray that you’ll touch the hearts of these young people, and may they make decisions in their heart and in dependence upon you to learn what it means to really understand that you love them and that they in turn will learn to love you. And Lord, we’ll thank you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Young people, you know that one of the most satisfying things in your heart is
when you have a good talk with somebody. When it’s a trusted talk, you can open your heart. Obviously, the best is with parents if you can have that or other trusted people.
But you know, you can have a talk with the God of this universe every day. It’s an amazing thing. Now, many of you have been through this pattern.
I’ve taught this before. Many of you have been here and have had this. But I want to encourage you to think it through, through the lens of what you heard this morning, what you’ve heard throughout these last couple of days.
And really look at what does it mean to meet with God. If you’ve not ever been through the explanation of the hour with God, I trust you’ll listen very closely, not be intimidated by hour with God, but realize that what we’re talking about is an extended time with God that you sacrifice to meet with the one that loves you. And where you allow the Holy Spirit to put other things aside, to change your priorities, and I trust that you’ll say,
I’m going to do this by the grace of God. All right, if you will take your booklets there, you’ll find, well, I’ll tell you, before I do that, let me just read from the verse in which we get the concept of the hour with God. That’s Matthew 26, verse 40.
The Lord Jesus had come into the Garden of Gethsemane And he was now going to begin his passion by surrendering himself to the cross. And he cometh unto his disciples. He had asked them to come to watch and pray and bear the burden that he was having.
As he had to surrender himself humanly to the cross. Obviously as God had already done that. But he cometh unto his disciples and findeth them asleep.
And saith unto Peter, What could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Now young people, the wonderful thing about the hour with God is you go out of a human perspective and you begin to let the spirit of God activate your spirit into a spiritual relationship. We worship God in spirit and in truth. And he’s saying, could you not have that kind of relationship with me?
And I tell you, God loves each one of you.
Did you know he wants to spend time with you today? We’re going to give you a chance here in just a few minutes. He wants to spend time with you tomorrow.
He wants to fellowship with you. He
wants to listen to every little thing on your heart. Did you know you can go tell God everything? And he wants to tell you.
He wants to give you instructions. He wants to give you encouragement. He wants to have a vital spiritual relationship with you.
But you can’t have a relationship without spending time. And so the beauty of deciding, I’m going to spend this major time with the Lord is, you’ve got to surrender everything to do it, because you’re not going to do it, unless you are surrendered to the Lord. it’s going to be a major priority in your life and you’re going to need the Spirit of God to help you go through that time and to make it very real
and you will have to make decisions to put other things aside you’ve heard a lot about social media you’ve heard a lot about good old YouTube that’s come up over and over and all these other things that they take time don’t they do you realize you can just boom lose an hour just like that Young people, if you totally shut down technology, you’d have more time than you know what to do with.
Not that you have to shut down all technology, but the point is this. There is time to meet with God. And you will find getting rid of priorities that are hurting you anyway, and then replacing that with a time with the Lord will radically change your life.
All of a sudden, you’re going to just wake up to what life is. All of a sudden, you’re going to get a vision for your life. All of a sudden the deep need of your heart to be understood will start happening.
And you’re going to realize that, wow, I don’t have to escape into technology or friends or things that I shouldn’t be involved in. I actually can live life. And I can have this very satisfying time with my God.
One thing that’s going to be important is if you’re going to get up early to have a time with the Lord, you’ve got to get to bed on time. And that’s a big one. Some of you.
How many of you really have trouble getting to bed on time at night? All right. How many of you have a hard time getting up on time in the morning?
That’s what I thought. Well, it correlates, folks. Okay.
And so you will have to decide what is important to you. All right. Now let’s go to the booklets.
I want you to take both booklets. Every one of you should have them. Some of you may not have this booklet.
but if you do, I want you to open it to the page about, I think it’s right after the BCM announcement of the $250 off on your first semester. So good advertisement there. Anyway, it’s right after that one.
And so it looks like that. Everybody get to that page? Okay.
Then have that opened up. And then I want you to open up your three-week Christ Walk journal, or if you have your actual Christ Rock Journal, go to the second section where you have the explanations there. The very first page of the booklet you were given looks like this.
Okay? I want you to open it to that. Now, you will note, young people, right after that are pages that look, you’ve got three weeks worth of this for you, that look like what is in the booklet.
But I want you to be able, side by side, to look at the outline and look at the daily diary
at the same time. All right? So you can open those up.
And I’m just going to quickly talk about
this pattern. This is simply a pattern, young people. It’s not the only way you can pray.
And
obviously, God will burden my heart different ways. But I actually follow this pattern. And you will find if you do, an hour will go by quickly.
Have you ever just tried to sit down and pray a long
time? I’m praying, I’m praying, I’m praying. Two minutes.
I’m praying. I’m going to pray a half hour.
Oh, man. Four minutes. You know, that’s what happens a lot of time.
But when you follow this
kind of pattern with the different aspects of a relationship with God, honestly, the hour goes just like that. It’s an amazing thing. And this will really help you.
And so also I do want to
mention without getting into it, I don’t have the time. Every element of the hour with God comes from the model prayer that the Lord gave as an outline of how to pray. The Lord’s Prayer, we call it.
So you’ll find every element of that from how the Lord taught us to pray. So there’s a very clear biblical background to this. So let’s begin.
And the first thing you should do as you’re ready to
spend time with God in prayer is wake up. Okay, that’s a good thing to do. By the way, it’s wonderful to kneel when you pray, but that can be an excuse to put your head on your bed and go back to sleep.
Okay, so that’s very practical. Whatever it takes to be awake, do that, all right, if it’s
in the morning. The second thing is, Lord, would you enable me to pray? The Spirit of God is called the Spirit of Prayer.
And He will enable
you to talk to God, the Father, God, the Son. You will find you’ll have a supernatural enabling that will help you in a wonderful way if you will ask Him to do that. Alright, we’re going to go, if you’ll look at the outline here.
I’m just going to go right straight through it.
The first five minutes is worship and praise to glory in God’s unique greatness. And honestly, these five minutes can go by very quickly. If you will look in your booklet here, and I believe they have it printed for you.
If you will look at
page, I don’t think it’s page, but after the diary, you’ll see a page like this, Worship and Praise. See it there in the back? And you will find for the first six sections of this outline, you will find helps.
In other words, ideas to help
you know how to get started in praying. And so in the Worship and Praise section, there is many of the attributes of God listed out with different references and definitions. And it’s a wonderful thing.
You start off
and you begin to meditate on the attributes of God. I always start, He is the great creator. He is the mighty God.
He’s the everlasting Father.
You think of who He is in this whole universe He’s created, and I’m talking to him. He is the almighty sovereign. He’s the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords.
And you begin to realize what a tremendous privilege this is. He is
the God of Providence, the God of Majesty. He’s the Alpha and Omega. He’s the beginning and the end, the author and finisher of my faith.
He’s the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world.
He’s the altogether lovely one. You go through all the things like the lily of the valley, the bright and morning star, the rose of Sharon, the balm and Gilead. I love that he’s the good shepherd.
He guides me and takes me into a place of fellowship with him. And you can just go on and on with these wonderful attributes. He is omniscient, he’s omnipotent, he’s omnipresent, he’s holy, he’s righteous, he’s pure.
and the other day it just hit me how thankful I am for the holiness of God. That means I can trust Him in every area. And you take some of these attributes and you meditate on them and just worship God for who He is.
What does David, for instance, do under inspiration in the Psalms? He is praising God for who He is, long-suffering, merciful. And you can just see the many attributes of God that help David understand the greatness of his God.
Now, if you look back into your booklet, you see the little two-page diary there, spiritual diary. And so put down the attribute as you’re going through attributes. Put down, and this is so important to write, put down the attribute that God touches your heart with, say a word about it, and have it as a record of what God has touched your heart about as to who he is.
Then you have the waiting on God. That’s the next section. If you go on in the back there,
you’ll see this section, waiting on God. And here you’re just being still and knowing that he is God. You’re yielding.
Lord, you are my God.
I believe that. I am yielded to you. And you’re expecting that God is going to work in your heart.
Now you notice in this section here that we have divided up into the triune God a way to think and wait upon the Lord. Meditating on the fact that He’s the Father. We talked about that last night.
He is the Son. And He
is the Spirit, three persons in one. And it’s wonderful. I’ll take about a third of the time and just meditate on my Heavenly Father and that every good and perfect gift comes from above, like we talked about last night.
And I can trust Him, and I thank Him for that. And that He,
I can call Him Abba Father. That’s an idea of Daddy. I mean, I can have that kind of relationship with Him.
No one can pluck me out of His hand. He lifts me up, as John 15 says, out of the world,
and He prunes me, and He’s working. I can trust Him with my life. And I don’t know how many times God has just brought great rest to my soul, as I think of His intricate care of my life as a good father.
Then the Savior, the true vine, the one that died for you. You think that He is a high
priest that is touched with the feelings of your infirmities. He wants you to come to the throne of grace to find grace to help in time of need. He is ever living to make intercession for you right while you’re praying.
Jesus is making intercession to the Father.
Isn’t that amazing? And He is the mediator between God and man. He is the one that is seated at the right hand of the Father now in full glory.
And just to think of how much He loves you. He died
for you. It’s going to be something. You’ll see Him actually in a body when you get to heaven, a glorified body.
And He’ll actually have a personal relationship with Him then, but you can
have it now. And then the Spirit of God. You can commune.
He convicts you. Just the work that He
does in your life. The Holy Spirit is there. The communion of the Holy Spirit.
He gives you power.
We’ve been promised that. He gives you the revelation of the Word of God, an illumination to understand it. And He will guide and direct you.
He’ll manifest Christ and the Father to you. And I go over all of these things that the wonderful Spirit of God does for us. And the Lord will emphasize different things as I wait on Him and I yield to Him.
And it becomes very personal. It’s not this generic God. My friends, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all three are intricately involved in your life.
And when you meditate on those things, it is a great encouragement to you. And so that’s five minutes. And so in the waiting on God section, mark down.
Maybe the Lord touched you about the Father taking care of you, or maybe the Savior making intercession for you. And you just write that down and meditate on that during that time. So you’ve now spent 10 minutes.
You have to think of it, 10 minutes just worshiping God. Do you think that’ll do something for your heart? Do you think the Holy Spirit will start working in your heart?
Absolutely. If you’re open with God, this will just get you out of your own little world and all your problems and get you into a perspective on life that is just glorious. You are raised above it all.
You begin to look at your life from a divine perspective. And by the way, that’s wisdom. you start thinking God’s thoughts.
The next one is confession of sin. You may ask, why don’t we do
that first? I’m telling you, if you just started off right out of the blocks confessing sin, you wouldn’t even know hardly what to confess. But after 10 minutes of spending time worshiping God, do you think you’re going to know worse?
In fact, do you think you already have probably dealt with
a few things? Absolutely. And so you get to this time, if you go to the next section, Confession of Sin, there in the back, you will find different days.
This is from Oswald Smith’s
great treatise on how to have revival. And there are many other things. I have actually pages of different nuances of my relationship with the Lord and sin problems and so forth that I go over in verses, and I quote a lot of verses during this time.
This develops over
the time. But it’s just being honest with God. Remember what you just heard?
This is the time you talk to God. Be
transparent. He knows you. He knows you better than you know you.
He knows your motives. He knows why you really did something. He understands the confusion that you have.
He understands your emotional makeup.
He made you. So just talk to him. You see, confession is agreeing with God, seeing it the same way God sees it.
That’s wrong. That’s sin. I’m not going to rationalize it.
Lord, I need your
help. And see, Satan wants you to get discouraged. But if you’ve been looking to God for 10 minutes and you come to this confession, the Spirit of God will lift your heart and you’ll realize that by the time you finish talking to God about the issues in your life, you can walk away saying, I’ve got a clean heart.
I’m right with God. That’s a great thing. You know, it’s wonderful,
young people, instead of starting your day all feeling bad about yourself and just rushing out the day and, oh, you got things that you’re guilty about, you’re feeling so much pressure to be free of your heart and have talked to the Lord about it all and you know He’s forgiven you and you know He’s going to help you, it’s freeing. It’ll give you the joy of the Lord. It will give you a perspective on that day that is glorious.
And you ought to be able, by the way, at any time in your life to claim the clean heart. Does God forgive? How much does He forgive?
Everything. Thoroughly. Fully.
It’s already been paid for. Don’t walk around like Pilgrim’s Progress with the burden on your back. Get rid of that thing.
Let your heart lift with the freedom that comes of knowing that you have forgiveness. And so Confession of Sin in that section there just writes a couple of key things that Lord really dealt with you about and just agree with God, write down what would help you for future. This is a great thing to go back to to remind yourself of how God worked in your heart.
So now you’ve spent 15 minutes. Five more minutes will be spiritual warfare. Now young people you’re not living in a neutral world.
There’s a very real devil.
He’s very powerful. He controls the nations of the earth. Ever wonder why does the United States do the things that it does?
How in the world can the White House do that? How can the world China do what it does, and Russia does what it does, and the European Union do what it does. Well, it’s because there’s a very real devil and very real high powerful demons that are at work.
Why is there such ungodliness in our day? There is a spiritual battle, and Satan has you on his radar because you have a heart for God. But the good news is greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
You don’t have to fear Satan. You just need to respect
his power and know that you can have victory. You don’t want to rush into spiritual warfare without having gotten fully right with God and worshiping God for who he is because it is God that gives you the victory. So if you’ll go to the next section there, spiritual warfare, and you will find a number of help.
Remember you’re in a battle. Be sober,
Be vigilant for your adversary. The devil is a roaring lion. Goeth about seeking whom he may devour.
Whom resist steadfast in the faith? And it’s a great help, 2 Corinthians. I quote all of these verses.
By the way, you’ve been wanting a memorization program? This will help you for a while. And these will go deep into your life if you will learn these.
Recognize the devil is defeated. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil. You’re in a position of authority because you are in Christ who is far above all principalities, power, might, and dominion, Ephesians chapter 1.
And you can take your stand against the devil, not because you have any power, you have none. You’re created lower than the angels. But when you are right with God, the Holy Spirit is in you and he is greater than Satan, So you go above all the different levels of power, of satanic power, from the bottom to the top.
By the way, the most foolish thing in the world is to live in the flesh, because you’re at the bottom. Some of you right now, you wonder why you’re so, you just are so loggy, feeling so oppressed. It’s because you haven’t been willing to yield to the Lord, and Satan’s got you.
But just turn to God, let the Holy Spirit have control, and you are now in a position of authority and power. And so I look primarily when I’m using these five minutes, I’ll speak to the Lord and ask Him to enable me to resist the devil for my individual life. I take my stand believing that God will do it.
I resist the devil when it comes to my family. I resist the devil when it comes to
the ministry, to this church, his overseer. I resist the devil for this community believing that God will rend the heavens and come down and pour out his spirit upon all flesh. These are things that you’ll find listed in here.
And you can come through that five minutes with great confidence that though you don’t have any power, he’s got all power. And it’s wonderful to know you’re heading out into the day not being under the thumb of the evil one. That’s pretty good news, isn’t it?
Think about that. You can go with a clean heart and with a real sense that you’re going to have victory because Satan has been defeated based upon the Word of God. So that’s why these helps are important.
I urge you, step by step, memorize those verses and be serious about it. I find that each of these sections go very quickly because there’s a lot involved in them. So write down.
Sometimes I’ll say, Lord, I’ve claimed victory for myself today, or I’m claiming victory for a certain family member, or I’m claiming victory for the church in this way, or for this community in this particular way, and write that down. 20 minutes. That’ll go very quickly, because that’s a very personal, very important part of your time.
Now, I’m going to move quickly through the rest of this, but I wanted to get you started strongly. The next five minutes is claiming promises. Claiming promises.
And the section you’ll find in the booklet gives you a little bit of just some ideas, but doesn’t, because you notice the next page is blank. That’s your page. As you grow in the Lord, God’s going to give you different promises that apply directly to what you’re burdened about.
You need God to give you victory over a certain sin. You need God to work in one of your parents’ lives, an unsaved relative life, or you’re burdened about seeing some deliverance in your church that your pastor’s asked you to pray about, whatever it is. And God will begin to minister to you, and as you’re having your devotions, God will give you verses, and you need to write those down.
The minute God strikes your heart with a verse, claim it. Maybe it’s a life verse that
God has given to you, whatever. Write it down in your Christ Walk journal, all the different verses that you’re claiming. It really becomes a diary of the interaction you’ve had with God in prayer and the promises that God has given you to give you victory.
And again,
that’s another list that you’ll be memorizing. And this is maybe one of the hardest ones for people to understand. This comes alive the more you pray.
This comes alive the more
the Word of God becomes real and precious to you. But of God. 25 minutes have gone by and now we have a 10 minute section.
A 10 minute section on intercessions and petitions. And in the back here we have given you just a couple of pages of ideas of writing requests down for your family, for missionaries, friends, neighbors, personal matters. maybe you’re in it.
We have Bible studies here. And so the small group Bible studies,
they all have prayer requests and people that they’re praying for their top five. And you write those down and praying with your brothers and sisters in Christ and asking God to work. Now, this is where a prayer list is very, very important to develop.
And this is something I’ve
worked on over the years. I am amazed how the Spirit of God will give you within 10 minutes now a lot of times this will get expanded, but it will give you in 10 minutes the ability to pray and pray with real earnestness for lots and lots of people. I’ve had to learn this because I’ve got to pray for my whole church.
Got to pray for the entire college. Got to pray for all of my friends in the ministry. These men that you’ve seen up here.
I pray for them. And I pray I’m burdened for each one of their children. And it’s a big
matter. Their children need to walk with God. That’s going to mark their ministries.
All of
this I take very seriously. Say, how do you have enough time? It’s amazing when it’s all laid out, it’s right there.
So work on that prayer list. Start with just your family, major things. It
involves intercession and petitions. God has promised to give us the daily bread. You’ve got a financial need, He’s going to take care of you.
You see what God will do.
You’ve got other needs in your life, you know, small little things. Pray about them. You know, you say, Lord, it’s not like I really need this.
I remember one time Dr. John Arise in his book
Asking and Receiving. That’s a great book for you to read. All kind of great illustrations in there.
But he was during the
Depression era and he was out on early evangelism. I don’t know if I got this exactly right, but it touched me. He said he hadn’t had a piece of meat for a long time.
I mean,
he just, just a good old fashioned comfort meal. You know, it’s just that things were really bad. He said, Lord, is there any way nobody has any meat?
He was a Texas rancher. He said, I just need
a good old steak. And he said, Lord, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked for that.
I’m thankful for
one to have, but I would like one. You know, that’s the kind of relationship you can have. He got to the next place, checked into his hotel, and the manager said, hey, we just unexpectedly got a small shipment of steak.
Would you like a steak tonight? And of course, where’d that come from? God moved people just to provide his servant with just a desire, not even a great need that he had.
Do you think God loves you? Don’t you love to give something to people you care about? Your parents love to do things for you.
God’s much greater than that. So from the intense intercession, asking God to work mightily in the lives of others to the petitions, it’s a wonderful time. So make sure you write things out there and get a prayer list going.
Then Thanksgiving. Thank God for what He’s going to do. Based upon already, you have been praying for 35 minutes and you need to say, I know God’s going to answer my prayer, write that down, and then thank God for the good things He did.
I always go over the day before, all the things that God did for me. And then I also thank God for the trial. That will turn the trial from being a trial to a blessing.
Thanksgiving is a very precious five minutes for you to have. Then the next one, and I want you to listen closely, I’m going to have to do this quickly, meditation and discovery is a 10 minute section. A 10 minute section.
Here you take a portion of your
devotions. Maybe a chapter or a section that you’re reading and you let God speak with you. You go slowly through that passage because you’ve been praying now young people for 40 minutes and you’re asking God to speak to you and to help you understand truth and to give you wisdom, take time to go through that passage.
And when God begins to touch your heart about something, you notice you have a place for a passage, and you write that passage down. Something about writing a passage down makes you think it through. Maybe a verse or two verses.
Pick out something that speaks to your heart. Then in the lines below that, then write it in your own words. How would you explain that to somebody else?
If you’ll write it and then rewrite it in your own words, it will become you. In fact, it’s a good first step to memorizing that verse. But meditate.
You’re reading a chapter or two. You isolate a verse or two. You meditate on that.
And you let God just work in your heart. And if you’ve had a good time of prayer, that will just come alive for you. Then if you’ll note in the next section on listening, which I’ll get to in a minute, there is an I will statement.
And maybe you read the psalm there, he that goeth forth, sowing in tears shall reap in joy. And God just strikes your heart about how you need to be touched and have a different heart about soul winning. And so you put down, I will ask God today to give me a heart for others and I will endeavor to talk to someone about the gospel.
Well, that’s
a good specific I will statement. It needs to be specific. So you write that down in there.
So that’s a good 10 minutes of meditating on the Lord and letting Him speak to your heart. Then you get to the listening. That’s five minutes.
You’ve already gone 50 minutes now.
and that listening is an opportunity for you to stop and say, all right, Lord, after I’ve been in your word, after I’ve meditated and walked with you, what do you have for me? And you’ve got questions about things. Every day, think about the things you don’t know what to do.
Do I do this or do that? In fact, this is a time to even think about how to plan your day. Lord, what should be the number one thing I do today?
who should I talk to today? What is it that you’re concerned about for me today? How do I talk to this person about this problem?
Man, there’s all kind of stuff that’ll come up.
This five minutes is just glorious. I mean, God has given me messages in five minutes. He has told me exactly what to do, who to talk to.
In fact, right after that, I’ll be texting
somebody or doing something because God just leads. Just a quiet little voice and that’s the Lord. And he’ll just open it up.
He might not open it up right at that point, but if any man lack wisdom,
let him ask of God who giveth all men liberally and abradeth not and it shall be given him. And he will give you in the next hours, he will give you the direction that you desperately need. It’s a wonderful time just to let God lead you in your life.
Listen to him. And then
Who am I going to share these truths with? Who can I be a blessing? You notice share on the other side.
You have the I will statement. You’re saying, Lord, how can I follow through on the I will statement? And then who can I share it with?
Then we finish up with the final five minutes. And that is just praising the Lord again. And then singing.
And I say singing? Yeah, I’m telling you. You look at Ephesians 5 and Colossians 3, singing and making melody in your what?
Heart to the Lord. It’s an amazing thing. And so it’s a time for you to worship the Lord and let some hymns come to your mind.
Now, you might scare people if you sing too loud. Maybe you’re in a private place. But it’s a wonderful thing to sing.
and that song you will find will just come on your heart for the rest of the day. And it doesn’t have to just be singing. You’re praising the Lord and you know He’s going to work and you just finish out this time and it’s such an important time just glorying in who God is.
That’s an hour. You can do it, believe it or not. It’s just in those five and ten minute segments.
Okay? You want to try
it? You know, do you think God’s ready to talk to you right now? Has he been talking to you?
Yeah, he’s been talking to you, hasn’t he? This is a good chance. We’re just going to give you a quiet time for an hour here to spend time with the Lord.
So here’s what I want you to do. You need to stay in the auditorium and stay in the place where your squad leader can see where you’re at. You can stay right in your seat, or you can move to the seats around that are, where you’re not just right next to somebody.
and you can even move up here if your squad leader knows that you’re up there. But stay in the auditorium and every five minutes I will say let’s move to the next section. Now again this is not doesn’t need to be a rigid thing but I want you today to go through the flow of it.
So you’ll hear me say something every five minutes or ten minutes. I might even give some instructions and let’s just seek the Lord. What’s the first thing you need to do now as you seek the Lord?
Ask the Holy Spirit to enable you. You need His help, okay? God wants to talk to you.
So let’s go for it. Just wherever you, let’s go right through. Make sure you write down in every section in the diary how God has worked in your heart.
