Mark Gillmore: Hello once again, I’m Mark Gilmore here with our Go Mission podcast.

And it is my incredible privilege to be speaking to you today from the land of Uganda, a country towards the east side of Africa.

And I have with me a couple young evangelists whose testimonies are inspiring me with their commitment and with what God is doing in their lives.

Their names are Brother Ronnie and Brother Nuru.

And they are sitting here with me today in this warm African environment.

We’re sitting out underneath a starlit sky here in Africa.

And I wish each one of you could be with me enjoying this evening and the cool evenings, the cool mornings, the hot sun-baked middays.

Africa is an awesome place, and it’s a privilege for me to be here with you two men and just giving our audience of so many teenagers just a glimpse into what God is doing here in Africa.

So let’s start with you, Brother Nuru.

Guest Speaker: Thank you.

Mark Gillmore: Thank you so much.

It’s good to have you with us.

Guest Speaker: It’s really a blessing.

Mark Gillmore: Now, how old are you?

Guest Speaker: I’m 22.

Mark Gillmore: 22 years old.

Yeah.

And now you have, we’ll get to more of your story, but just tell us how you came to Christ.

Guest Speaker: It’s a little bit long story, but I’ll try as much as possible to put it short.

I was born in a Muslim family whereby I lived and grew up in a Muslim family and I went to the most big Muslim schools within the country of Uganda and then I also got also privileges to study in some of the best Quranic schools within the country so I grew up in such kind of moment and then I also grew up, I was born in Yombe here And then I grew up in Yombe, so it was so hard to hear the gospel in Yombe because the 80% of the population of Yombe is Muslim population, and then the 15% is the Catholic population, and then the rest are the Anglicans, which made it so hard for the gospel to be moved in Yombe.

So once I was in school when I reached my high school, I got the privilege to serve in the Muslim community as being the leader and being the leader at the district level.

And I was also once a persecutor of my fellow Christian students who we are studying together with them, trying to make sure they are not having their Bible studies at the school, trying to make sure they don’t have fellowship at the school.

So during one of my holidays, God started speaking to me through dreams that I could not imagine.

So I went to my mom telling him I’m receiving these dreams that I don’t imagine and which I don’t know which.

They don’t mean.

They took time to pray for me, but still the dreams were continuing even during daytimes, during my day sleeps.

I could still hear God speaking to me, but I couldn’t listen because I was not understanding and there was also no one. to be there with me.

So until one Sunday morning, a bright light entered inside me, forcing me to go to church while crying.

And while the community was going before me, trying to know what was going on, I was going to the nearby Anglican church while crying.

So they told me maybe my parents at home had some problem, maybe someone have died at home, But trying to reach home, nothing happened.

So when I reached church, I felt some peace.

But it was also where my mother was working, but not from our real place.

So from there, I came back to where I was staying.

That was in Yungbe town.

And it was very hard for me to go to church again because I had many Muslim friends and Muslim relatives who could see me going to church and trying to avoid problems.

And good enough, my father bought for me a bike that time.

And it was in 2017.

My father bought for me a bike.

So I could use this bike.

There was also an Anglican church seven kilometers right away from the town.

I could ride there because it was also a place whereby I can hid and have fellowship.

So that’s how I started growing, going to the church.

And then in, I had no opportunity to be discipled because there was no one to pick me up and to teach me the way to go.

But God was really so faithful to me.

I had my own Bible, which also reaching some moment, my fellow students from the school took it and threw it into the latrine.

So it was so challenging now to be in school because no one can assist you to be with you.

The teachers can’t allow you to attend their lessons because it was a Muslim school.

And there were a lot of challenges that I went through.

The district imam contacting me, calling me, because I was also one of the student leaders at the district level.

But in there, I couldn’t still understand what was going on.

But really I understand now it was what God wanted me to do because he forced me.

Like trying to carry me to church because I was not understanding.

So until I met a friend who comes from a Baptist church.

So that was where now people at home had the story and they decided to chase me away from home.

So I was not in school.

I was not doing anything because there was no one to pay my school fees.

So he picked me.

We started staying with him.

So he started teaching me.

And that’s now when I came to realize what it means for me to receive Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.

Though I was going to church, though I can’t miss a fellowship or even I can’t miss any other Bible study, but I couldn’t understand what it means for me to be saved, what really it means for a person to be born again.

But this brother of mine helped me to understand.

So then I stood on my two feet and confessed Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. and then since then now I have this burden now for the land of Yombe because I believe there are many souls whom if they could hear the gospel they could turn to Christ and with this I stand firm to say no matter what it means I’ll start from my Jerusalem that’s Yombe because it’s where I’m coming from so that’s where I have so much burden for it and it always makes me cry when I see men of the youth coming from this place.

On their way going to hell, it hurts me so much and it’s always my cry to see also the lifestyle of my family members, my parents who gave birth to me.

Though they really loved me so much, they cared so much for me, they could provide for I mean, everything, everything.

But yet I could come back home very stubborn, cannot listen to them, cannot be forbidden to them.

Though they paid me to the best schools, and even they could give me the best care that ever a parent can give to his child.

But still, I was still very stubborn to them.

So in there I came to realize it’s basically because they were unable to tell me the word of God.

And though they could tell me the word of God that was in Ukraine, but still it couldn’t change my heart that I could still be so obedient to them.

And I really thank God so much for giving me the opportunity, for giving me this privilege.

And I can’t regret in my life the decision I’ve made to follow Jesus Christ.

And I believe, as I live by now, I believe it’s my best decision ever I’ve made in my life.

And I believe I’ll not regret it again.

And I thank God I’m on my way going to heaven.

Mark Gillmore: Wow, what a remarkable testimony we have heard of what God is doing among Muslims around the world.

And what you are sharing is a first-hand testimony of Christ drawing people to himself out of the Muslim darkness.

Truly, before you chose Christ, He chose you.

I mean, yeah, that’s true.

He drew you to Himself.

He gave you the dreams and the visions that just startled you.

You did not know what they meant, but they drew you to seek the truth.

And you went to the Anglican or Catholic Church, where you knew the truth of Christ was supposed to be there, And then God brought you to this Baptist person who brought you into the home and taught you the full salvation.

And now God’s calling you to go right back to your home area as an evangelist to your own people.

And I am sure you’ve got a great burden for the people still in darkness, even for your own family.

I think of your father who so cared for you, helped you get this good education, and now it appears like you have abandoned all that he did for you.

And it’s a challenge, and yet the end of the story is still coming when it comes to your family of what God will do through your testimony.

Now, Brother Ronnie, you are here.

You are the senior member of this gospel team.

And God has given you the privilege to take much training.

And on that side of things, not so much going back to your salvation testimony, but just share how this evangelist gifting, this burden to preach the gospel, the equipping to preach the gospel, how has that happened in your life?

Guest Speaker: Thank you very much.

Not just to go deep into my salvation story, but when I received Christ as my personal Savior, and now I grew up in an Anglican family where both my parents are very stone Anglicans.

So when I received Christ as my personal Savior, I started thinking, what should I do then?

And then the Lord laid a burden in my heart.

Because before I was a very serious drunko, we could start boozing from 7 in the morning up to evening.

But God redeemed me from that.

And this burden began to grow in my heart.

What about my fellows with whom we have been boozing together?

So I started with my own family.

I began to engage my own father and we began to share the gospel with him.

He could ask you questions and for him he know how to read.

He’s a professional teacher.

And finally the Lord touched his heart and he also received Christ as his personal savior.

And this gave me a new vision.

Then I went to my friends with whom we have been boozing together.

They have seen that I have totally changed.

I no longer go with them to booze and stuff, and they see this change in me.

And whenever I could praise to them, they would really appreciate it because there is a change really in my heart that has taken place.

So as I talk now at four of the youths with whom we have been boozing together, they also received Christ as their personal Savior because of my own testimony.

And as I talk now, two of them have already opened a church, and they are pastoring a church in a rural district.

And I’m so thankful to God that he has given me this new vision.

When we had the Gospel Advance Conference here, the burden was just increasing.

I felt it is getting too much in my back.

So it gave me totally a new vision.

And I have a burden right now to reach all the West Nile region with the true gospel of Christ.

And I tell you, our country, Uganda, is a country where you can really see darkness.

Wherever you go, it is a country full of prostitution.

Young men are engaged in abusing drugs.

There is really no hope.

And these are the strongholds in our nation.

Alcoholism, prostitution, and plus many others.

I could really mention many of them.

But these are the strongest holes in our country that’s really keeping youths.

They have no hope.

But I believe the only hope for them is Jesus Christ alone.

And that’s my mission.

And we have partnered together with Brother Nuru.

We have a burden to reach the whole of the West Nile with the true gospel of Christ. even from Marua up to Nebiah, up to Ayumbe.

Yes.

Mark Gillmore: And this is what the Lord has laid in our heart.

You know, as you mentioned those strongholds, and I think of many young people listening, they’re common.

They’re the same all over the world.

Drunkenness, fornication, drugs, hopelessness.

It just fills the lives of so many young people, Africa, America, around the world.

And what we need is some transformed lives, like your lives, with that passion to see lives set free out from that darkness and experience the joy of the Lord.

And I pray that even as we are discussing, the zeal for this is coming through and touching some lives that we must, we are all in this battle together, the same battle.

And God wants to use our testimony.

So, Brother Nuru, you were mentioning Yombe as your home area, 80% Muslim, 15% Catholic and Anglican, which would be Orthodox religion, Christianity religion without the gospel.

And so there is very little gospel light there.

You even described some of the persecution you faced as you were seeking Christ and then coming to Christ.

And now you are going back into that region.

Tell us what is happening as you all are going together.

Nuru, maybe you can begin by describing your first steps.

How have you been working in that region now?

Guest Speaker: First of all, it was so challenging because there was no one who could stand with me until God brought into my life, and Roni, whom really we had a common mind and a common understanding of the gospel.

But alone, I had been reaching out to the youth, especially visiting them from their schools.

And that was the first step I started.

And because I did say God started speaking to me through dreams.

And from those dreams, the dreams I receive, I see myself preaching in the streets, preaching, standing on pulpits, spending time with the youth.

So I started preaching in the streets of Yombe.

And many people say, this guy must be crazy.

But the burden I have in my heart is at least every year in Yume must hear about Jesus Christ.

That was my first goal, even if they are not going to do anything, but they must hear about Jesus Christ.

And it was so challenging.

The first time I started it, it was during the corona period whereby they took me to police because they find me preaching on the streets to the cell.

I slept some two days and then they also released me out.

But the more I started facing this, the more burden I started developing.

So I started connecting from some of the friends that we had from school and visiting the youths from school.

And also there, it was still so challenging because there were no organized Christian organizations that could help students have some setups of Christian organizations, some Christian fellowships from schools.

And also, again, with that help, some of the schools right now in Yombe, because of that burden, they started now having Bible studies from there because when I went there to some of the two schools, I went, I found there was nothing, though they were Christians from the school.

I preached to them, and some gave their life to Christ, but in the, God also still gave them the burden.

They started having Bible studies, and as they speak, but now, though they have left the school, but right now, the program is going on, and I believe it’s also still changing the life of most students now in Yombe.

So, basically, I started it on streets, and on visiting the youths on schools.

And because now there was no…

It was so challenging because there was no church because to support me, you can go to school and the school will ask you any recommendation from where you’re coming from.

And churches cannot do that, okay, because they don’t have the vision at all. the pastors don’t have the vision at all.

So, until it was also like, so amazing how we get to know with Ronnie.

We just met with him once, once, and we couldn’t even realize we are going to have such kind of connection, but immediately God connected us there first time we met.

So, and right now we have now a movement that we do in Yombe, and reaching now, deep now, down to the communities.

Now, we found out the best thing that ever we could do is now to reach and to see how God can really be now glorified from the communities because God can only be glorified from communities when they set up a church.

So that’s how we reach now into communities, and God is helping us finding a new person of peace from the communities who will help us reach in communities and provide a place for communities to gather, having disciples and having Bible studies.

And that’s how we are trusting God for more churches to come in Yombe.

And we so far thank God for the two Baptist churches that are so established in Yombe, which also so much now helping us a lot, coming behind us.

Because sometimes we feel so lonely.

Sometimes we feel we are lonely in this.

But God is really always going with us.

And we are praying for more Muslim youths.

We are trying to reach them.

Thank God.

Also, he gave me the knowledge of the Quran, which I’m also trying to use to reach more of the Muslims.

Not using the Bible to reach them, but using the same Quran to reach them, telling them how the beginning of man is, how the nature of man is sinful, is telling about the bad news and which also the Quran doesn’t have the good news which will always now force us now.

Now if now this is the bad news we have what’s now the good news which will always force us now to know more about about Christ.

And the things also there are some youths now who have get to know about Christ and who gave also their lives to Christ and they’re also facing the same persecutions that I was facing Then it’s also a burden to me because I feel I could be of help to them because I couldn’t waste them to face what I faced, the challenges that I went through.

But I couldn’t, so it’s also another burden that we could also pray for.

And then still the persecution within the Christian setup again from other religions is also so hard.

There’s also what’s still going on within Yimbe, though there are few, but still there are few Christianity.

They don’t have the mind of coming together and preaching this gospel because now they have different gospel.

Yes.

Now that’s now the challenge that we have right now.

And the Muslims can see the disunity that the Christians have.

And they don’t even have a desire to come to know about this.

They can see the unloving faith the Christians have among themselves.

But currently we thank God for the new hope that he gave us.

And as I told you, and as even Ron said, our lives are testimony.

Of recent, I’ve gotten an opportunity, even I and Ron visited my mother, and we have now got opportunity to share with my mom and my siblings. but they have really seen that this is a new Nuru, that they have really seen it.

And also thank God right now if there’s another challenge from the family, my mother can’t hesitate to call me and say, Nuru, can you please pray for us?

We have this.

So many of you get to understand something really so unique about Christ and something unique that Christ will do.

And we are really trusting God for more souls to be saved.

And we believe with this, Christ is really going to do more.

Because it used not to be, at least right now you can see, a different Christianity move in Jumbe within these few years.

Mark Gillmore: Amen.

So, Brother Ronnie, as Nuru is describing the evangelism, but we’re not just satisfied with that.

We want to see these churches established.

And if I understand right, there are two Baptist churches now in Yombe.

And what is your vision when it comes to establishing these churches and progressing from evangelism into established churches?

Guest Speaker: We really, the churches that are established in Yombe, They are really behind us, meaning that we can be together with them as we go together to evangelize in a specific place.

So we have found that once we open a preaching point and where people are gathered there, once there are a group of people who have put their faith in Jesus Christ, Like right now, we have three other preaching points where we are ministering.

Excellent.

So our goal is just to find someone who will be able to lead in that place.

And we have some tools that can really help them.

As we are away from Yombe, they could use them to minister to their fellow Christians, to these new converts. like we have the parables of Jesus Christ.

They can really study them and they use it to preach to these new converts.

And once we come back, we see them growing in the Lord.

And that has been one of the tools that is really so helpful in this ministry.

And thank God by the help of West Nile Bible Training Center.

They’re also behind us.

And we get to know that if really we give these people into their hands a tool that is really very simple, they can as well join in ministering to the fellow, to the local community within YUMBE.

We have tools, very simple tools, which are very reproducible and which are very easy for them to use to minister to these Muslims.

We have the gospel tracts, and they can really explain it very well, these new converts in these new places.

And we have, as I’ve told you, the parables.

That is real for discipleship.

It’s real to teach the new converts.

And also we have the banner, the gospel story, right from Crescent up to the cross.

And these new converts, they can use them to preach the gospel.

Even when they just see the picture, they could explain, this is talking about Crescent.

What does the Crescent story show to people?

So it reveals how powerful God is.

And from there up to cross, the whole plan that God had for this, for mankind, right from Genesis up to the cross.

And let me tell you, we found that this has been so helpful to us in a way that even if we are not there, these people are not stuck. they are able to push on by the grace of God using these simple, simple tools.

And even their testimony, they are able to share their testimonies.

And we trust God that as he is always faithful to us, he will continue to empower us and we will be able to reach many, many parts of Yombe with this true gospel.

And we don’t doubt God.

Mark Gillmore: Yes.

Guest Speaker: He has never changed. and we know he worked in the hearts of even the religious people.

You see Paul, a very religious man.

God changed him for his own good and we trust God that even this Muslim community in near future will be turned upside down for the glory of God.

Amen.

Guest Speaker: To add on that, In these preaching points, right now we have now one which now started fellow sleeping as church.

So we also have a tool that we develop before we can set up the church.

We have also this tool that we use to teach them what really is God’s design about church, how really God wants church to be.

We teach them how church could save the small money they have.

We teach how church leadership can also be.

And we also teach them how the Holy Spirit works in church, how really beneficial.

And we also teach them the ordinances of the church.

And all this will also now help for them to be.

And we also match so much belief now in the local church, which means we look around to see from the wisdom of God to see who really can best be the leader in the church.

So we also send them out.

And as I did say, there were also some moments we come this side, we go to other places, and then there were also some moments we go back and we find the believers we have on ground have already also bring us or other new believers to this.

So meaning it’s really a privilege to see that, to train also our leaders, Leaders also training other leaders.

So right now is now the strategy we have, not now bringing up, discipling up believers, but discipling up leaders, okay, who are not just believers, but who are just leaders and who are very active in this.

And then we also make sure in the beginning we establish them in what we call, is also in one of the materials that we have, which is the Strong Foundation.

And we teach them the basic foundations of Christianity and what are the basic things that really a Christian, a true Christian is set up of.

So in that we find just in a few period of time, you really see now a strong believer who can never be deceived because we encourage them, you read the Bible from yourself, and we really encourage them with those things and we’re always keeping them active by those materials, giving them, you study them and we’re also giving them some assignments saying when we shall be coming back, we have these questions that we’ll want you to answer.

So it always keeps them to be active, always being with the word of God, trying to research because they know if you’re coming back, they’ll be answering questions.

But that will basically start from a person of peace, getting new believers.

Because they will know, so and so is our brother here.

They will not have a problem coming here to their place.

So then from there we shall start to see, can’t we start to have our fellowships?

And after the fellowship, why can’t we have a church since we are this?

Why can’t we have a church?

So that’s how it’s going on.

And that’s why we say there are also others that have now reached to this.

Apart from those two, we still have one that’s now a church like now, but still a new one.

That’s why we call it a church, but it’s now a church.

But we still also have some more preaching centers who have good disciples who are really so faithful, who really come for the fellowships.

So that’s basically what we do, not even only in Jumpe, but in the rest of the districts of West Nile.

Mark Gillmore: Yes.

What you are describing is literally a taste of the glory of God.

You must feel like you are doing the very things Jesus did as you walk from place to place.

The ministry of the Apostle Paul, it’s exactly what you’re experiencing.

And an awareness that this is God at work.

I mean, the dreams that brought you to Christ, you didn’t make those dreams happen.

They didn’t come from Satan.

Satan is not going to give you a dream of preaching the gospel.

That’s Christ, and it shows you you must have a deep sense of God’s call on your life.

He has a purpose for you.

And now you’re going and you are preaching the gospel, gathering those who believe, giving them these tools that they begin to follow Christ, but also give the gospel to others.

You can step away and they can continue to study the word of God, continue to reach out.

When you come back, there’s more people that are there.

And this is true missionary work.

It’s true gospel advance.

And it’s in this Muslim area where God is doing great things through you.

Now, just a quick word, as you’ve been through some persecution, you mentioned how you were in prison for a couple of days.

And as you were in there, you didn’t feel like you were going to be silent. you actually gained more courage.

Like, you were more committed to speak.

You weren’t intimidated.

You were filled with a greater desire.

So as young people or Christians are experiencing some persecution, what would you say to them to encourage them?

Guest Speaker: I really thank God so much for the persecutions and the sufferings that I’ve gone through.

And because they really taught me how life is and how really they really taught me how really I can only depend on God through these persecutions.

And as I say, I’ve gone homeless whereby you don’t have any place to lay your head to sleep.

I’ve gone hungry.

I’ve gone very lonely whereby you don’t have anyone to speak to you.

But in there, I’ve got to learn that I’ll never be alone through those.

And also a quick testimony.

In 2000, before I could give my life to Christ, I was tested hepatitis B positive.

And the doctors say my liver is seriously damaged.

And all my parents are medical workers, are medics.

So they couldn’t tell me this because they were so scared and they think maybe it will torment me so much.

And my parents used to take me to one of the big hospitals within the region every month for treatment.

So when I got saved, when they chased me, they drove me away from home, I had no money for medications.

There’s no way that I was going to.

So in there, I came to realize, that’s why I said I thank God so much for those sufferings I’ve gone through.

So when I came to realize this, through studying the Word of God, came to realize God can really do more things in my life.

So I started working.

I started working because I reached with a scripture whereby the Bible tells me, the Bible tells me, it’s only about my belief.

It’s only what I believe.

And even the Bible telling me a prayer of a righteous can do a tremendous work.

And the Bible telling me by his wounds I was healed.

So I was like no i’m not sick anymore because i’m healed by his tribe so i i went to i went to a certain uh one of the leaders in the anglican church is they called them canons so that the people like that the church elders they give advice when things so he had a farm so i went to work in his farm for for four weeks to get some money to go to hospital to go and test so when i went i was negative the doctors were saying I’m okay.

I said no, maybe it must be a mistake of the machines.

I went again and do some work.

Also for some four weeks, I went again.

So as I talk about now, I’m still living, I’m still alive, though the doctors told me I had a damaged liver.

Wow.

I’m still alive.

And that’s just to say how God really can work through the problems we face.

So as I did say, in there, God really proved himself that he’s real.

God really proved himself present in my life.

And I even had no opportunity now to go back to school again because there’s no way that I could get some money to pay my school.

But in, God proved himself.

So the only thing I can say to the youth is, the only person you need in your life is only Christ.

And it’s all about trusting in God alone.

He can really do what no one cannot do.

What my parents cannot do for me, what anyone, what even the doctors, the most qualified doctors in Uganda cannot do for me, he did it for me.

And that’s the only thing that I can say.

And he really made me to be very active right now.

But as I did say, my parents, according to the status of the country right now, My parents are not poor because they are medical workers.

And the medical workers are the most highly paid people in the country.

So I had everything I need.

And in there, there was no way that I grew up not doing any work but just eating what my parents.

So I started now developing this life of being so dependent, not depending from someone.

Mark Gillmore: not depending from someone.

Guest Speaker: And even the ministries we do, we make sure, though there are also some little support that people give us, but we make sure we also work to provide for our transport and to provide for other things because there are also some places we need to reach to.

Because of these persecutions, I have really learned to trust in God.

Also in there, God also proves himself through these persecutions.

I thank God that I have faced these trials and these temptations because they really proved God in my life.

They really give me more energy to trust and to serve God.

The only thing that I get to know is to go through the fire and then to run away from the fire.

This is something that God told me from the beginning of 2018.

I always thank God every year.

Every year, he gives me a theme of the year.

So from 2018, he told me a theme of the year is to go through the fire.

So in there, I try to learn how to go through temptations and trials that could face me, the challenges.

And in there, I always end up victorious.

The beginning can be so scaring.

But brothers, it’s always when you stand strong, you’ll really see.

It’s also taking God by his word, not taking God by his word, telling the Israelites, you need to stand firm and see how God is going to deliver you. it’s understanding that it’s not you.

I understand.

And always when I found them, I said, God, I can’t do anything.

I can’t do anything.

It’s you who have called me in this soul.

God, it’s only you.

So these are the two basic things that I’ve learned through my temptations.

One is my temptations and the persecutions, let me say, the persecutions I face.

One, they helped me to prove God in my life, to prove God in being faithful can’t really fail me in my life.

And then two, these things really proved, also preached to people.

There was one friend of mine, he gave his life to Christ just because of what I went through.

Okay.

I was saying, Nuru, how come you went through this?

How come you went through this?

No.

No.

They came to believe, they came to realize there was something.

No. coming to you, how did you make it?

And then it gives you an opportunity to share Christ to them.

You know, from school, people come.

How do you go through this, Nuru?

How possible is it?

Now, it gives you, those things always give me opportunity even to share the gospel to my family members because my family members can’t expect this.

My mother can’t expect it.

Him being a medical personnel, I couldn’t believe someone who had a damaged liver could live.

Now, it’s now going three years now, I think four years now even.

Can still be alive with the damaged liver.

So it gave me also an opportunity to tell them, no, it’s not all about anything, but it’s all about Christ.

So it really opened a lot of doors for me.

Many people seeing my life and they really see Christ.

And also another one was, one, in our clan we have people whom if they speak, if they speak, it always comes to pass.

Like the elders.

So when the elders gathered to, because I was officially sent away from home by the elders, so they said, Nuru, you’re not going to leave.

You only have one week to leave.

Unless you come back to kneel before us, then you only have one week to leave.

And I’m now more than three years now.

Yeah.

And the Koreans believe it.

So it is good that we face those things.

It’s good we face them.

They really make us strong.

They really make me more stronger.

When I was in the cells, I have the opportunity when other prisoners could ask me, Man, why are you here?

What have you done?

What have you done?

I said, no, I’m just here because Christ loved you.

That’s why he brought me here because he wanted you to hear this gospel.

So in there, I also get still the opportunity to say that.

That’s how I get the mozzled that wherever you are in that circumstance, you are in, it’s an opportunity for you to share the gospel.

So when you stand strong, you prove God right.

Mark Gillmore: That’s right.

Guest Speaker: And when you fail, now when you fail to stand wrong, you will not prove God to be strong.

So when you stand strong now, you will prove God right and you will prove God to be a mighty God to people.

And you also make more hearts to believe God.

Mark Gillmore: God is faithful.

And what you are saying then is that there’s two things God does in that persecution times.

He proves himself to you.

And you love him more.

You know him more.

But he also proves his own truth to people watching you.

Yeah, that’s true.

And it’s not a time to run away, but it’s a time to go through it with confidence that God is going to use it.

I think many young people can look ahead into what is front of them or in front of their own circumstances or maybe in the world in general.

And they can feel fear.

They can feel uncertainty.

But the answer you are giving us is life changing. knowing God is in control, and you can trust Him.

And if you stay on the gospel mission, you are going to see His hand come through.

So, young people, let me just ask you to pray for these two men, Brother Ronnie and Brother Nuru, an evangelist team into the Yombe region of Uganda.

So please put their names down on your prayer list. uphold them as they continue to go right back into some very difficult circumstances, but they’re filled with faith, and your prayers will make a difference.

And I hope the testimony that they have shared will make a difference in your lives.

I know a key theme of thee Generation is total surrender and total dependence.

And these two men, just their lives just scream out that message that total surrender and total dependence is the way to live.

So remember that as we are in a world of increasing turmoil and insecurity, the only way to be at peace is to remain on mission with Jesus in his Go Mission.
